Winter, 2nd mvt (The Four Seasons)
Antonio Vivaldi
The second movement of "Winter" from Vivaldi's Four Seasons, arranged for B♭ clarinet and piano. It depicts rain outside the window and warmth by the hearth, with a long singing line above the accompaniment's pattering raindrop figures. There are no fast notes, so it is easy to approach — yet it exposes exactly how evenly you can sustain a long tone.
